Artist Bio
Belinda is a young artist who has always had a love of vibrant colour. She has grown up surrounded by creative people. This creative inheritance was further fuelled by her Steiner School education, where Belinda continued her enjoyment of colour through working with bright watercolours, silk painting, dying wool to knit and weave, drawing with Stockmar crayons and felting with lusciously coloured, soft wool tops. Over the last few years Belinda has developed as a fibre artist, making felt artworks from Merino wool tops, with silk and mohair additions. She has been taught and inspired by some passionate and gifted fibre artists from the Blue Mountains, where Belinda lives and creates her works from her home in Blackheath. Belinda’s great love of children, nature and animals is the inspiration for her work. Recently Belinda has experimented with using natural dyes, hand carding and spinning her own alpaca wool.
Colour is the soul of Nature and of the entire cosmos...
